Every Wednesday I will be featuring an ingredient of the week! These ingredients will be fresh, accessible and seasonal for the time of year (in Canada). This will help you guys to choose the best ingredients to cook and bake with, that will enhance your diet with colour and nutrients! This weeks ingredient of the week: PEACHES, the sweet, juicy, refreshing, fuzzy fruit that everyone loves.
Peaches are an excellent way to get in your daily serving of fruit! Peaches contain a number of nutrients, including vitamin C, K, A, K, fiber, potassium, magnesium and phosphorus. Meanwhile also contribute minimal calories and zero fat to your daily intake. This summertime staple is perfect for cooking and baking, being used in marinades (recipe to come), loafs, crumbles, pies, breakfast dishes and to top salads.
