#2. Swap Soft Drinks & Sugary Teas For Flavoured Water
Try adding in some cucumber, mint, berries or citrus fruit slices into your bottle of still or sparkling water! You will be saving yourself hollow calories, and loads of hidden sugars!
#3. Swap Oil For Applesauce in Baking
When it come to muffins, cakes, loafs, and brownies, pureed fruits (such as applesauce, pumpkin & banana) are an excellent substitute for oils. Use a 1:1 ratio of pureed fruit for oil in your baking recipe! This will easily help to shave down the fat and calories from a recipe.

Zucchini slices are delicious cracker substitutes with both dips and cheese! Also, zucchinis are incredibly inexpensive and will keep in the fridge for a long time, so easy to always have on-hand.

Such as spiralized zucchini, carrot, rutabaga, broccoli stems, etc. Many vegetables will offer a delicious tasting pasta paired with your favourite sauce topping! This is a huge carb and calorie cutting swap, that is way more flavourful and fun to make than a typical pasta dish.

An easy swap now-a-days with all of the nut milk options available in your local grocery store. Including almond milk, soy milk and cashew milk!
#7. Swap Store-Bought Juices/Concentrates For Freshly Squeezed
Instead of reaching for your regular store-bought OJ try a freshly squeezed juice, or a cold-pressed juice. Trust me, once you taste a fresh version of your favourite juice flavour there will be no going back to the sugary, concentrate. Freshly squeezed juices and cold-pressed juices offer a variety of valuable vitamins and mineral that your body needs and craves.

A simple swap that will save you from consuming the extra fat and calories.
#9. Swap Granola Bars For Mixed Nuts
Instead of a sugar-filled bar make small bags of your favourite raw mixed nuts. My go-to combo is raw cashews, almonds, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds. I always have a bag of these in the car, or my purse for emergency snacking.
#10. Swap Regular Yoghurt for Greek Yoghurt
Greek Yoghurt is higher in protein and calcium, and can also be swapped in place of high-fat cream cheese or sour cream!
